Welcome to the Mobile Robotics Laboratory, a part of the Institute of Systems and Robotics (Coimbra Pole), a non-profit research institution dedicated to the field of robotics.
MRL's goals on research are the development of theoretical and technological solutions on the particular area of autonomous systems, one of the most important practical subjects on the use of robots in improving mankind's quality of life.

Motivating young people to enter a career in industry is linked to the objectives of the project "Pense Indústria" which is being presented this week at Alves Martins high school (in Viseu).
This event had CTCV as the official partner with the active partipation of ISEC / RoboCorp and MRL-ISR in which Micael Couceiro (doctoral student at FCTUC) and Carlos Figueiredo (researcher at ISEC) presented several works on robotics.

It started this monday, 28 November, the Eurobotics Week - the biggest robotics display in Europe, with activities ranging from demostrations, workshops, guided tours and others, through Portugal and the whole Europe.
Talking to "Ciência Hoje", Jorge Dias, national coordinator for the Portugal activities, explains that the main goal is to promote the tecnological domain of robotics, it's diferent interdisciplinary aspects and show to the current society it's importance to the future.
