I obtained the BSc degree on Electrical Engineering - Automation in 2006, the Teaching Licensure degree (BSc plus 2 years) on Electrical Engineering - Automation and Communications in 2008 and the MSc degree on Automation and Communications in Energy Systems - Industrial Systems in April 2010, all at the Engineering Institute of Coimbra (ISEC), Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (IPC).
I published papers on mobile robotics, biomimetics, fractional-order control, sports engineering, biomechanics and mathematical methods.
I am currently a PhD student on Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Coimbra (MRL-ISR, FCTUC) since September 2009, having Prof. Rui Rocha (MRL-ISR, FCTUC) as my scientific supervisor and Prof. Nuno Ferreira (ISEC, IPC) as my co-supervisor.
In September 2010, I applied for a PhD Grant from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), which was accepted.
In the first year of my PhD I attended the Doctoral Program, in which I had to complete four specialized subjects:
At the end of the first year I also submitted my PhD Thesis Project, thus finishing the Doctoral Program in September 2010.
Moreover, during that time, I had the chance to be an Invited Teaching Assistant in the Department of Electrical Engineering (DEE) at the Engineering Institute of Coimbra (ISEC) teaching Digital Systems to BSc students. Also, until the end of 2010, I worked as instructor of the Pense Indústria initiative at the Technological Center of Ceramics and Glass (CTCV) providing to high school students the opportunity to learn robotics, CNC Design, CAD, prototyping, nanotechnology, aerodynamics, Information Systems, Energy and others.
